K V Rao To Get Karantha Award | Mangaluru News

MANGALURU: Kalkura Foundation and Karanatha Birthday Celebration Committee will bestow the year 2022 `Karantha Award’ on K V Rao, director, Pilikula Regional Science Centre, for his immense contributions to the field of science.
The award will be presented to Rao here on October 10, stated Kalkura Foundation president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura. Rao, 78, born at Kote village near Udupi, studied in SVS High School, Katapadi, and got his BSc degree from MGM College, Udupi.
After getting his post-graduate degree in M.Sc. (Physics) from University of Mysore in 1967, he got his Ph.D. in liquid crystals under Prof. S Chandrashekar at Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru.
